Gary Brinkley
Senior Pastor
Gary has served as senior pastor of FBCRR since 1992. He was born in Baytown, Texas and is married to Brenda (Lofton) from Pasadena, Texas. Brenda is a speech language pathologist in the Round Rock School District. Brenda and Gary met at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. They have two grown children, Lynda and Allison, one granddaughter and three grandsons. Also part of the family are Esther, Rebecca, and Eunice Jeong from South Korea. And then, there is Maisie, the family's cairn terrier. Gary holds a Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State, a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been in full time ministry since 1976, in churches in Alabama, Missouri, and Texas.

Bob Sheffield
Associate Pastor
Bob Sheffield served for over 40 years as a pastor or interim pastor of churches in Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He has written numerous articles for various Southern Baptist Publications and is author/contributor of twelve books. He served for 22 years in Deacon Ministry and Pastoral Ministry with LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention before retiring in 2007. He and his wife Barbara have been married for 51 years and have three children and eight grandchildren.

Glen Vanlandingham
Minister of Music
Called to ministry as a high school student in McAllen, Texas – surrendered to the ministry as a student at the University of Texas. Glen went on to graduate and complete a Masters degree in Church Music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as Minister of Music at First Baptist since 1981. Glen is married to Kay (also a musician) and has two grown sons Chris and Jeff.

Bob Hawkins Hawk
Business Administrator
R. D. ‘Hawk’ Hawkins is the Business Administrator for FBCRR. His responsibilities include facilities, business operations and finance. Before joining the Executive Staff, he worked in the technology industry as an Operations Manager and Business Consultant.
Mr. Hawkins has provided consulting services to academia and industry on a myriad of topics which include planning, management, operations analysis, process development and the implementation of business practices and procedures. His background includes team building and large scale project management expertise.
Mr. Hawkins has a BS degree in management, an MBA and is a past consulting member of the Advisory Board of the Graduate School of Business, University of Texas. He is an author whose articles related to management and operations have appeared regularly in industry publications.
He and his family have been members of the church since 1986.

Tracey Mayo
Minister to Preschool
Tracey married Jack Mayo in 1993 and they've been blessed with two children, Emily (14) and Connor (10). She has been a member of First Baptist Church in Round Rock since 1995. Serving in preschool ministry since 1998, God called her into the Ministry in 2003. She feels truly blessed to work for the Lord here at First Baptist Church. Prior to working at the church, she worked for the Attorney General’s office as a systems analyst for 9 years.

Melva Shubert
Minister to Children
Melva attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and earned a B.A. degree in Religious Education and Religion plus an Education Certification. She had been a school teacher for 7 years prior to coming to First Baptist Church as a church member. Here, God opened the door for her to begin serving Him in full-time ministry. She first served as Minister of Childhood Education before becoming our Minister to Children. She is married to Clark Shubert who greets folks in the Welcome Center. They have two children, three grandchildren, a dog, a cat, and several birds at home. They also care for the fish in the 250 gallon fish tank at the Riverside Café.

Judy Adams
Financial Administrator
Judy is a graduate of Baylor University with a BBA degree in accounting. She worked for education institutions as an internal auditor/accountant for several years before starting a family. She and her husband, Robert (a water resources engineer), moved to Round Rock in 1991 and have 3 sons -- Matthew, Jared and Ethan – college age and older! She has been the Financial Administrator for FBCRR since 1998, seeking to serve the Lord and His church through stewardship and accountability.

Marc retired after working 34 years in the Facilities Department at the largest car insurance company in the world. He and Barbara have been happily married since 1971. They have a son, daughter and 3 grandchildren. They have been members here since 1975.

Denise Chesser
Music Associate
Denise has always loved music, especially playing the piano. In first grade, she began taking piano lessons from her aunt, who was a church organist. That led to accompanying school and church choirs, ensembles, soloists, and playing for worship services, weddings and funerals. She has served as Music Assistant at First Baptist Church since 1995. Denise and her husband Doug have been married since 1979. They have 3 sons, Jonathan, Matthew and Phillip, and 2 daughters-in-law, Amber and Rebecca.

Dawn Norton
Assistant to the Pastor
After being raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and enjoying the majority of her life on the sunny Texas coast, Dawn is finding living in beautiful Central Texas a delightful change. While volunteering as an Office Angel at FBC Rockport, TX, the Lord instilled in her the desire for full time ministry. She feels the Lord has been preparing and equipping her throughout her life for the ministry she has been called to here at FBCRR. She has two grown sons; Kendrick , who lives in Austin, and Kyle, who is serving our country in the Army.

Sheri attended ACC for two years and is married to Kevin. They have two children, Vance and Sarah. She has been a member of FBC since 2000, and has been working at First Steps Learning Center since 2001. She became the Childcare Coordnater in 2005 and love it.

Sheri Pelath
Assistant to Adult Ministries
Sheri has been on staff with the Church since 2003, and also working with First Steps Learning Center for 2 years prior to that. She can honestly say she's thrilled with her position here at FBCRR, and has never worked with such a wonderful group of people. She has been married to husband John since 1990 and they have two amazing sons. Kylan, a member of the United States Air Force and James attending Round Rock High School.
Personal passion: family... She is devoted to her family and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Favorite family pasttimes: camping, hiking, boating or really anything else that gets the family outdoors together. Favorite vacation: Washington DC.

Kim graduated from Texas State with a degree in Family and Child Development and worked for the state of Texas in Early Childhood Intervention for 8 years before becoming a stay at home mom with her 3 children, Reed age 9 and twins Kate and Brooke age 4. She became the Director of FSLC in August 2008. She and her husband Mark have been married for 14 years and are active members at FBCRR.

Chrissy has been blessed with the opportunity to work for the church family she grew up with and loves dearly. She has worked for FBCRR and FSLC in several different roles since 1997. She is married to David and God has given them three beautiful daughters, Stacy, K’Leigh and Brianna. This church has played many very important roles in her life and she is now very excited to give her heart and time back through reaching out to families here.

Larry Stehr

Larry attended Southwest Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Larry has been married to Jeanne since 1983. Together they have served churches in Texas, Missouri and Alabama. Jeanne has taught school in each of those states as well. They have two adult children, Jake and Luke. The family pet is Lola, a 90 lb black lab with way too much personality. You might see them traveling the backroads on their motorcycle looking for a great place to eat. Suggestions are always welcome!

Staci is married to Travis, and they have two wonderful little boys named Zane and Corbin. Staci graduated from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. Before working for the church, Staci was a high school math teacher. Staci is excited to see what God’s plans are for her life and is eager to serve the Lord.
