About worship

"Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." Romans 12:1

First Baptist Church is a place where every person in our city can experience new life in Jesus. Worship is just a fancy word used to describe how we engage in this new life. Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to the savior who gave himself for our salvation. Through songs of praise, thanksgiving, adoration, atonement, reflection, and honor we present our whole selves to the Lord each week. 
1 Samuel 16:7 says this: "For man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." We strive to engage in a heart posture of surrender and full obedience to the Lord on high in every way we engage in worship. 

Meet the Leaders

Dr. Nathaniel White

Worship Minister

A recent graduate of Texas Tech University with his Doctorate in Church Music, he received his Bachelor's and Master's in Music Performance from the University of Denver. He has been the worship minister at many different churches all over New Mexico, Colorado, and has settled with his family in Texas. He has been on staff at FBCRR since August 2026.

Ashley Pool

She was brought on staff as the associate in August 2024 and served in that role before serving as the Interim Blended Worship Minister from January 2025 to August 2026. She received her Bachelor's in Biology with an emphasis in Biochemistry from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

Worship for all

Worship Choir

Our worship choir is made up of men and women from high schoolers and up. We currently meet in the chapel on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm. All musical levels are welcome to join.

Children's Choir

Our Children's Choir is under the direction of Katie Pyles and Joanna Knighten. This group is for kids in 1st-6th grade who have a wide range of music experience.

Preschool Choir

Our Preschool Choir is under the direction of Colleen Kraus and Ashley Pool. This group is for kids age 4 by Sept. 1st through 6 years old and entering 1st grade. We learn the basics of music through games, activities, stories, instruments, and songs.

AV/Livestream team

Our AV and Livestream teams are the backbone of our worship ministry. These dedicated individuals are the reason we have lights, slides, sound, and a space to worship and engage online. If you would like to join this amazing team, email Nathaniel White or Ashley Pool.
